  Course Overview

Hi, my name is Sam McRoberts, and I'll be your instructor for SEO Simplified.

Now this course is not like other SEO courses. The goal here is not to turn you into a search engine optimization ninja. You're not going to become an expert, and if you already are an expert then this is definitely not the course for you.

This course is designed for business owners, CEOs, CMOs, for developers, managers, marketing managers. Anybody who needs to have a solid understanding of what SEO is, how it fits into the overall business picture, and why it's important.

Now, you don't have to be able to do SEO on a day-to-day basis. But your knowledge needs to broad enough, and in some areas deep enough, to help you to make good decisions for your company, and to hire the right people to do the work.

Now, SEO is extremely is complex, however it can be boiled down into a handful of simple principles. And those are the principles that I'm going to teach you throughout this course.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm going to go in-depth in a number of areas. And for some things you will learn enough to implement and practice SEO on your own.

But that just isn't the goal of the course. The course is designed to help you understand the breadth and depth of SEO, and how it fits into your business.

I've been doing SEO for almost 20 years. I've worked with hundreds of companies, ranging from small local businesses all the way up to Fortune 100 companies like Microsoft, HTC, Nokia, Fannie Mae, and numerous other enterprise-level businesses.

I've worked on ad-driven sites, e-commerce sites, standard informational sites, and everything in-between. I have a very, very thorough understanding of SEO. I've also been a web developer, so I have a deep understanding of the technical side of SEO, and the things search engines are looking for and trying to understand.

Now at the end of the day, SEO is simply about functioning as a translator between your site and Google. People go to Google and ask questions, and Google wants to answer those questions by sending people to pertinent information. And SEO is helping Google to understand why your site is the right answer to any person's question, if it's relevant.

So, without further ado, we're going to dive in and look at the 12 main modules that make up this course, and by the end of it you're going to have a very thorough understanding of SEO, and you'll be ready to move forward and rock it!
